Every January, during the World Economic Forum’s annual meeting, Davos becomes a meeting point for the people shaping the global economy. In 2026, Geesesquads joined Web3 Hub Davos, run by CV Labs, as a DMCC delegate, and also attended the 9th Annual Blockchain Central Davos, hosted by the Global Blockchain Business Council (GBBC). We spent the week listening, learning and talking with founders, investors and policymakers about blockchain, trust and where Web3 is actually heading.
The mood was clear: the industry is growing up. Digital assets are moving from speculation towards real infrastructure, and the conversation has shifted to a harder question. How do you build technology that businesses, regulators and customers can actually trust?
Three takeaways from the week
- Beyond buzzwords. The best conversations were about real use cases and governance: tokenisation, cross-border finance and the rules that make them work.
- Regulation is about applying the rules now. At GBBC’s “Global Regulation: What Happened in 2025?” panel, the focus was on what 2025’s changes mean in practice, with FATF standards such as the Travel Rule bringing countries closer together.
- From “if” to “how”. Tokenization and stablecoins moved onto the World Economic Forum’s main agenda, and AI agents came up as the next users of these payment rails.

Trust decides adoption
Across both venues, one idea kept coming back: institutions will only scale technology that is transparent, compliant and predictable. In a world that feels increasingly complex and divided, trust is no longer a nice extra. It is the product.
At Geesesquads, this is what we care about: using technology responsibly to solve real problems, and building systems people can trust. We have seen it first-hand building a tokenization platform, where security and clarity mattered as much as speed.
